Aquaria KLCC Returns With Malaysia's One And Only Underwater Lion Dance

One of the things we love about the Lunar New Year celebration in Malaysia is the dazzling lion dance performance accompanied by pulsating drum beats and amazing stunts. Since this year is a little different and we're enjoying the long festive weekend in the comfort of our home, Aquaria KLCC is bringing the festive spirit to their fans by live streaming their annual Underwater Lion Dance on Facebook Live!

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Aquaria KLCC, a state-of-the-art oceanarium in Kuala Lumpur, entertained their fans with a 10-minute Underwater Lion Dance performed by seasoned divers - with one of them dressed up as God of Prosperity!

It's not the first time Aquaria KLCC has pulled off this incredible show. In 2019, they've also made a splash with a similar performance where the divers learned to control their buoyancy and prevent knocking themselves off balance. To avoid chemical bleaching from the lion suit, the suit must also be soaked in salt water for a few days before the event.

It's an awesome show to watch with your kids at home! We recommend skipping to 5 mins 50 secs to dive straight into the performance! Wait until 7 mins and 40 secs to see a sea turtle having a close brush with the God of Prosperity too. You can also visit Aquaria KLCC's Facebook and Instagram for other upcoming live events!
