YouTuber Alanaspinktravels, known for her travel vlogs, is sharing a new chapter in her life - her first Ramadan as a Muslim. Alana, who is from Scotland, came to Malaysia to further her studies. Her journey to Islam began five years ago, where a random choice of an "Islamic Studies" class sparked her interest. Captivated by the teachings and the Quran, she gradually embraced Islam over the following years.
In an Instagram post that's pinned to her feed, she said "I understand the responsibility I have with my platforms to try & be the best role model I can for young Muslims who follow me & I will strive to ensure I set a good example, inshallah."
In 2020, she took her first step by attempting the Ramadan fast, focusing solely on abstaining from food. Fast forward to 2022, Alana officially converted to Islam, culminating in her recent marriage to actor Abbas Mahmood.
Now, she's documenting her first Ramadan experience as a Muslim on her Instagram, inviting her followers to share this spiritual journey with her. Some of the videos she has shared so far include her first time praying at the mosque, trying out Ramadan buffet and her first time at the Ramadan bazaar.
