We all love travelling, but the flight part can sometimes get a little too uncomfortable, especially if you've booked an economy seat. The little legroom, and the awkward sleeping positions; it's a tiny price to pay to reach our destination. However, the next time you're flying with Air New Zealand, you might not want to leave the plane at all ?

Air New Zealand has unveiled their long-awaited sleep pods for future passengers in the economy class! Slated to open to the public in 2024 in the airline's upcoming Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, the Economy Skynest will provide six full-length lie-flat sleep pods! That means you'll be able to FULLY lie down as if you're on your bed ?

This special add-on for economy passengers also offers a full-size pillow, bedding, ear plugs, a reading light, USB port and a ventilation outlet. Passengers sitting in economy class will also have access to the new ‘Sky Pantry’ free snack station, where they can help themselves to refreshments and stretch their legs. The pods are stacked like bunk beds, with two rows each containing three beds. Each pod in the sleep zone will be located between the Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

Well, you can't sleep in the pods the entire flight though ? Each passenger will be limited to a four-hour session in one pod, at an additional cost to their regular Economy class seats. Beddings will be also changed between each session. Since Air New Zealand operates some of the longest-haul flights in the world, these routes include the six Skynest sleep pods! There's still no information how much it costs, but well, we're hoping to try these one day!

Those flying in business class will also get an upgrade as well: The new Dreamliners and retrofitted current 787-9 fleet will have either 8 or 4 Business Premier Luxe seats, 42 or 22 Business Premier seats, 52 or 33 Premium Economy seats and 125 or 213 Economy seats.
