5 Women-Only And Muslimah/Hijabi-Friendly Gyms For Your Workouts

1. Glowco Move

Local Muslimah fitness star Nawal Al-Haddad has opened Glowco Move, and it covers all forms of exercise! Incorporate a little fun into your workouts with their zumba classes, or if you can take the heat, try their piloxing classes which combine pilates, boxing and dance for the ultimate burn! Looking for a less intense workout? Their yoga classes are for you! (It is still a strong workout, so don’t be fooled by their low intensity!).

The intensity of each of their classes provided are labelled by the number of stars, so the lesser number of highlighted stars, the less intense it is! It doesn’t matter what level you are at, they can accommodate all! They also sell modest activewear at Glowco/Move shop, so now you can have cute yet modest and comfortable workout clothes too!

2.Mom In Balance

We know mummies and moms-to-be have a hard time juggling their time, and sometimes you might forget to take care of your well-being! This is where Mom In Balance comes in. Their training takes place at various parks around Singapore, so you’ll be enjoying the greenery and fresh air while burning those calories.

What’s even better is that you can learn it at Van Lee Fitness, the first, all-female Muay Thai gym in Singapore! You can even have the opportunity to train under founder and professional Muay Thai coach, Vanessa Lee, an ex-SAF trainer who will teach how to build-self defence skills, core muscle strength and tone up your body, all while looking super cool. If you’re just looking to squeeze in a quick workout session that’s nearby your home, Contours Express is definitely a gym you have to try! Apart from being an only-females gym with traditional gym equipment offered, their 9 outlets are conveniently located in the housing areas of Singapore, so you wouldn’t have to spend more time rushing about, and missing your workout.

You could try some of the many programmes offered too! One interesting one caught our eye:  A full body workout in just 29 minutes with their circuit training session! Sometimes, that’s all we need to clock in our daily and necessary workout time.

5. Her Tribe

So maybe going for an intense, core-burning workout after work is just … too much. We get you! Her Tribe offers a range of holistic fitness classes that can help you relieve your work stresses and get you centered! You could try their aroma yoga classes, which combine the sequencing of the yoga poses and the choice of essential oils to help you relax and unwind. If you’ve got a little more energy to spare, a popular yoga class you can try out is their aerial yoga sessions. It combines elements of yoga, pilates and dance while you hang mid-air in a hammock. If you are just starting to dip your feet into the fitness scene, these classes will be great for you as they cater to beginners as well! By the way, this place is Hijab-friendly!
