The churros craze hit town sometime last year and it’s definitely here to stay. We don’t know about you, but we would NEVER say no to some crunchy churros! And if we’re talking about this delightful Spanish doughnut, where better to visit than Chulop?

Don't forget to check out their salted caramel and speculoos milk too!

Crispy on the outside, so soft on the inside. Chulop is definitely our favourite place to get our churros cravings satisfied. Not only do they make amazing churros dusted with cinnamon sugar, we’re also in love with their dips! We’re talking about their oh-so-delicious Mexican chocolate and Spanish caramel dip.

If you love chocolate, you’ll definitely be pleasantly surprised by the Mexican chocolate dip, which has a tinge of spice and it’s not too sweet. The Spanish caramel dip reminds us of salted caramel but it isn’t too overpowering.

2. IceBox Cafe

Singapore’s crazy hot weather calls for a refreshing dessert, all day err day! And what can be more refreshing than the bingsu (Korean shaved ice) at Ice Box?! Like the bingsu in Korea, the ones served in Ice Box come with finely shaved ice and extremely generous toppings. You’re definitely getting every penny’s worth.

We tried both the Injeolmi (traditional Korean rice cake) and the Mixed Berries Tickles (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries). The Injeolmi bingsu is perfect if you’re a fan of nutty and chewy snacks. The shaved ice is topped with soybean powder, homemade Korean rice cakes and nuts to go along.

And if you’re looking for something refreshing, we definitely recommend the Mixed Berries Tickles. We absolutely love the amount of berries we got for this bingsu and it’s surprisingly not too sweet either. It also comes with a scoop of ice cream if all that shaved ice isn’t enough to cool you down :P

If you’re looking for a cosy café to hang out and have your cakes and tarts, look no further. Butter Studio is a short walk away from all the halal cafes around the Bugis area and it’s perfect to grab a cake and drink after your meal!

We’re absolutely in love with their The Ispahan, which is a lychee rose cake that is smells so fragrant with the scent of rose and tastes really moist and not overly sweet. Definitely making another trip back just for this cake!

Their signature Salted Caramel Red Velvet cake was a pleasant surprise too, as we’re not often used to both flavours in one cake. It’s a little on the sweet side, so if you have a sweet tooth, this is your cake for sure!

Besides cakes, Butter Studio also serves some amazing tarts. We tried the Sea Salt Nutella and Speculoos Cream Cheese tarts, which were both really really good. If you love your chocolate, you have to order the nutella tart. We love the slight tinge of saltiness to the sweet hazelnut flavor. And of course, if you love caramelized biscuits, the speculoos tart will definitely not let you down.

#HHWT Tip: Butter Studio has two other outlets in One KM as well as Takashimaya B2 Food Hall, so do check them out if you’re in the area!

4. Traditional Haig Road Putu Piring

Nothing like a good ole traditional dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth! You can never go wrong with the putu piring. We highly recommend eating this when it’s freshly made and steaming hot.

The putu piring is really soft and practically melts in your mouth. We really love how they managed to get the right amount of gula melaka so it wasn’t overly sweet and the flavor is perfectly balance with the grated coconut on top.
