Surian Station

1. Rimba & Rusa by Wondermilk (Muslim-owned)

Just a few minutes away from the Surian Station, this super popular cafe needs no further introduction! The two-level eatery goes by the tagline, "Everyday is Sunday", and you'll understand why once you step into the space.  Chic, stylish yet homey and inviting, it is a perfect place to chill with your loved ones for as long as you want.

Popular dishes include Shakshouka Baby, a hearty bowl of flavourful tomato soup topped with poached eggs, and their Kacang Phool Jiddah, a Southeast Asian variant of a java beans dish originating from the Middle East. 2. The Kluang Rail Canteen

From Kluang, Johor to Damansara, Selangor, this family-operated eatery is the place to go for a taste of authentic Kluang cuisine!

Paying homage to the famous Kluang Railway Station Canteen, this cafe is dedicated to preserving traditional Malaysian flavours through recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Most of the dishes on the menu are familiar to Malaysians such as half-boiled eggs, kaya toast, nasi lemak, and curry mee.

However, their most-sought after dish is the nasi lemak ayam berempah ? The fragrant fluffy rice and crunchy, deep fried chicken that's been marinated with aromatic herbs and spices is sure to satisfy you. Operating since 1907, the pioneering purveyors of nasi kandar branched out to Selangor in the middle of 2016, continuing on their streak of serving good ol' nasi kandar.

Looking for something light and easy on the stomach? Then make a stop at the newly-opened Family Mart at the TTDI MRT Station for a quick bite!

This Japanese convenience store chain has been paving its path into the hearts of Malaysians with it's affordable yet delicious konbini food. Now, following the success of their earlier outlets in Wisma Lim Foo Yong, Mid Valley and KLIA2, they have opened their fourth one here at TTDI.

Offering a plethora of Japanese food and snacks, you will never run out of things to try! Take your pick from their selection of fresh onigiri and sandwiches, a dazzling array of Japanese bread and bento boxes, and fresh salads. Not to forget their must-try items - the savoury oden and tasty matcha sofuto ice cream!

5. Super Saigon (Pending JAKIM certificate)

There's a new restaurant in town, and good news! It is not too far from the newly opened MRT line - just a 10 minutes' walk from the TTDI Station.

You don't have to travel to Vietnam for a taste of its food now that Super Saigon is here. Specialising in authentic Vietnamese cuisine, this eatery is the latest venture by the same person behind La Juiceria, with the aim of providing halal, exquisitely delicious Vietnamese delicacies to the Malaysian market.

A must-order is their pho noodle soup, in which you can choose the types of beef you want with your pho. And while you're at it, order their crispy spring rolls or their freshly-made bun cha. Don't forget to complete your meal with a cup of Vietnamese coffee!

Pasar Seni Station

6. Merchant's Lane

Not too far from MRT Pasar Seni is a hidden gem of a brunch place here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Located inside an old historical building, it might come as a surprise that this beautiful rustic cafe used to be a former brothel.  To preserve its heritage, the decor is purposely furnished with antiques and paraphernalia of the past, exuding a lovely old world charm.

Their menu consists of Asian fusion cuisine with creative names such as the South China Sea (grilled salmon served with 63 C eggs, salsa and housemade mash), and The Taukay (a beef burger served with cheese, peanut sauce and fried egg in a charcoal bun). 7. Cafe Old Market Square (Muslim-owned)

A 10-minutes walk from the Pasar Seni MRT Station, you'll  take a stroll down memory lane as you dine in Cafe Old Market Square, an incredibly well-preserved colonial building.

Formerly known as Sin Seng Nam Kopitiam where civil servants, judges, lawyers, miners, and gamblers would meet up, the three-story shoplot was taken over by a new owner back in 2014 before reopening to what it is today.

A 10 minutes walk from the Maluri Station will bring you to Sunway Velocity - a mall that is bursting with good eateries. And one of those eateries happens to be the famous Taiwan Original Cake!

Housed in a converted town house in Changkat Bukit Bintang, this city-center cafe is inspired by the Swedish social philosophy of "fika"- to take a coffee break, hence the name. Spacious and welcoming, this is a perfect casual brunch spot for a quiet pause or to chill with your loved ones.

You can now take the newly-opened MRT to get to your favourite satay restaurant in town - Sate Kajang Haji Samuri!

It's widely known that Kajang satay is ridiculously good and that Haji Samuri serves among one of the best Kajang satay out there! What sets theirs apart from your average satay is the chunkier meat and its aromatic marinade of turmeric, lemongrass, and other local spices. Combined with their heavenly thick peanut sauce and nasi impit (compressed rice), this is one satay-eating experience  you wouldn't want to miss!

12. Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake

Craving for more desserts to satisfy that sweet tooth of yours? Then head on over to Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake, located in One Utama, a walking distance away from Bandar Utama Station!

Sri Raya Station

13. Pathan Chapli Kebab Batu 9

250 metres away from the Sri Raya MRT Station, is a small unmarked warung famous among the locals for their scrumptious authentic Pakistani food.

Run by a group of native Pakistanis, this humble eatery is known for one thing and one thing only - Pakistani chapli kebab! Unlike the usual cooked-on-a stick kebab, the chapli kebab is a patty type of kebab that is shaped like a chappal - the sole of a sandal, hence the name. The beef patty is then topped with a beaten egg and served with naan, mint sauce, dhal, and a wedge of lime.
