  • Check-in at Grand Islamabad Hotel, located in a housing area where you can immerse yourself in the local community.
  • As an introduction to Pakistani cuisine, indulge in the flavorful and aromatic briyani at Kabul Restaurant, which comes highly recommended.

Day 2: Scenic Skardu and Enthralling Experiences

  • Take a domestic flight to Skardu
  • Get a window seat to fully appreciate the awe-inspiring views of the mountains and landscapes.
  • Described as one of the most glamorous airports in the world because of the views, this is definitely not to be missed.

HHWT Tip: Fly straight to Skardu airport instead of Gilget because the views were better when you fly over!

  • Explore Upper and Lower Kachura Lakes, where you'll be mesmerized by the picturesque valleys and traditional villages. Consider taking a van to reach the upper part and enjoy green and fields of wheat along the way.
  • If you do go in spring, be sure to catch roses as big as the size of a toddler’s head!
  • Discover Shangri-La Resort, a tranquil paradise where you can relax and savor a delightful meal at their floating restaurant with its Instagram-worthy ambiance.

Day 3: Shigar Valley's Frozen Charm and Adventure

HHWT Tip: Get your motion sickness pill ready! The oxygen is relatively lower due to the high altitide.

  • Sample the flavorful local chai (tea) and indulge in nuts like cashews and pistachios, which are famous in the region.
