1. Chiling Waterfalls
Starting off this list is Chilling Waterfalls, one of the most popular and stunning waterfalls in Selangor. Located 21 kilometres from Kuala Kubu Bharu in a reserve called Sungai Chilling Fish Sanctuary, say hello to this amazing nature spot that boasts three impressive vertical waterfalls. Whether you're an outdoor lover or not, the beauty of the waterfalls here will
no doubt leave you breathless!
To reach the waterfalls, you'll need to trek for about an hour through the forest and cross Sungai Chiling several times. With the deepest crossing at waist-high, this journey is a fairly easy one, so you don't have to worry about straining yourself through it. Once arrived, take a dip in the large natural pool created by the waterfalls and feel rejuvenated by the cool, crisp waters.
2. Kanching Rainforest Waterfall
Situated between Kuala Lumpur and Rawang, make your way to the majestic Kanching Rainforest Waterfall that's nestled within a lush forest. This seven-tier waterfall in Selangor is the perfect place for you to kick back and unwind as the sounds of the cascading water pull you into the ultimate relaxation. Do note that since the place is fairly close to the city, you should expect large crowds of people during weekends and school holidays. So, time your visit wisely if you prefer a less crowded area.
There are seven levels to Kanching Waterfalls - all with varying levels of difficulty. Level 1 through 4 is great for beginners as there is a concrete stairway and path connecting between them. Level 5 and 6 can
be reached via a well-worn footpath, both of which are relatively easy to get to. Level 7, however, requires you to climb a steep and rocky trail. As you trek the trail to the waterfalls, don't miss out on the various unique and distinct species of flora along the way. You'll even see troupes of monkeys popping out from time to time!
3. Sungai Pisang Waterfall
Next on our list of best waterfalls in Selangor is the gorgeous Sungai Pisang Waterfall. Deep within the district of Gombak, you'll be trekking through unconventional pathways that'll lead you to the 20-meter drop tucked away at the end of a river trail. With the Jungle Lodge as your starting point, it'll take you close to an hour to make your way to this waterfall in Selangor.
The unique thing about visiting Sungai Pisang Waterfalls is the pair of twin tunnels you'll chance upon in the midst of your journey to the waterfalls! 4. Sungai Gabai Waterfall
Let the serene atmosphere and lush greenery at Sungai Gabai Waterfall sweep you into a peaceful state of tranquillity. Housed within Selangor State Park, this waterfall in Selangor is a popular spot among locals for a quick getaway from the city. As one of the closest waterfalls from Kuala Lumpur that is also easily accessible by car, this nature attraction is a convenient choice when planning a refreshing getaway.
To reach the peak of the multi-cascade waterfalls of Sungai Gabai, walk along the wooden and concrete bridges built over the streams. Then, climb the cement stairs adjacent to the falls and soak in the marvellous view that awaits you at the top. Wade in the pool at the foot of the waterfall or travel further up along past the end of the stairs for more pools to dip in. There are usually lesser crowds in the morning, so it pays to come early!
5. Sungai Tekala Waterfall
Tucked away in the district of
Hulu Langat, find a slice of paradise that is Sungai Tekala Waterfall. Enclosed in a tropical rainforest, this waterfall in Selangor can be reached from Ulu Langat or from Semenyih. The Sungai Tekala Recreational Forest is home to this nature hideout and makes for a perfect picnic spot, camping site and trekking ground.
The crystal clear waters of the shallow Sungai Tekala is ideal for bathing and there are basic changing facilities available for the convenience of visitors. The higher levels of the river lead up to a sparkling waterfall which cascade into a natural rock pool. Other facilities such as rest huts which make pleasant shelters from the hot sun and benches for you to rest are available. If you're not a fan of the crowd, be sure to visit during off-peak days instead.
6. Bukit Saga Waterfall
Cool, fresh air and lush views - experience this perfect combination at the amazing Bukit Saga Waterfall, one of the most frequented waterfalls in Selangor! Perched on the eastern edge of Kuala Lumpur, there are numerous facilities you can enjoy on-site such as a swing playground, hammocks and shelters to rest and relax at.

some trail running or simply want to go on relaxing stroll on a weekend morning, you should definitely consider Bukit Saga Waterfall.
7. Serendah Waterfall
Also known as Templer Kai, Serendah Waterfall is one of the best waterfalls in Selangor that's situated 3 kilometres away from an indigenous people village called "Perkampungan Orang Asli Serendah" where you'll get a glimpse of their lifestyle upon entering the modern village.
Although the waterfall may seem small and shallow, the gushing water by the cascades offers a refreshing splash for those who sit by it. Also a great spot for picnics and a swim, you'll see plenty of families scattered across the area with floating tubes and baskets of food! Just at the junction entering the waterfall, is where the famous Seven Well or “Perigi Tujuh” is located at.
8. Lata Medang
Situated in Kampung Pertak, Lata Medang is one of the waterfalls in Selangor you should visit next. It cascades down from a huge drop of 60 meters across two tiers in a remote region of hilly rainforest off Kuala Kubu Bharu. Accessible by trekking through the initial trail to Bukit Kutu, a single journey takes about one and a half-hour.

9. Sungai Tua Waterfalls
Made up of pools for wading and swimming, rapids, cascades, and a near-vertical fall, Sungai Tua Falls is ideal for all kinds of activities - picnics, bathing, barbecues, camping and more! Found within the Sungai Tua Recreational Forest Reserve, which in turn is part of Selangor State Park, this is a highly favoured spot among locals. The drive to these waterfalls is a scenic adventure in itself, offering views of rainforests and the beautiful Batu Dam Reservoir.
You’ll also see the River Stone Eco and Nur Laman Bestari Eco Resorts nearby, where you can drop by and have a good meal after enjoying the waterfalls. Amid lush jungles, flora, and large growths of bamboo, there is also a suspension bridge crossing the large stream that feeds the waterfall.
10. Komanwell Falls
Located just a
kilometre from Kanching Falls, near the 23km marker of the Rawang Highway, the Komanwel (Commonwealth) Falls is a waterfall in Selangor that's cocooned by a pristine natural forest reserve.
Equipped with amenities like chalets, gardens and camping grounds, enjoy the scenery along with other visitors who populate the area on weekends and school holidays.
